"The hotel was good in many ways, but the could be better maintained. We had a porch covered by muddy dog prints, and had ants in the room. They did come and take care of the ants. Also if you want housekeeping you need to be out of your room by 9:30 AM. They came every 30 mins until we left for the day. Not a bad place by any means, but it could have been better."

"The Monterey Beach Hotel was one of the best parts of my trip to California. Even with the hallway being in front of the room/window instead of behind, I still enjoyed sleeping with the window coverings open. Luckily our room was at the end of the row so no one should have been walking in front of my window unless it was my own party. The view and sound of the waves were breathtaking and intoxicating. Best sleep! Beautifully decorated and maintained. Would definitely go back."

"I liked the location of this lodging. Easy to get to other areas such as beaches, Cannery Row, Fisherman Wharf and Hwy 1. Room was nice size, bed was comfortable. Pretty quiet as long as you don't get stuck with room 47. That room is near road and can be noisy. I was assigned that room when I checked in. I asked about the noise, but was pretty much blown off about the noise, since I would be working some while there.Then the TV did not work. Seems they have changed out a lot of TV's but have not in this room. Another staff member had come on and tried to fix TV and I asked to be moved, which she did. Parking can be tight, especially if you have a large vehicle. I would stay there again if in the area."
Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa

"The grounds are beautiful and very conveniently located in the down town area~ we were close enough that we could walk to several delicious restaurants but not so near to the main road that the 4th of July parade was disruptive in the morning when we chose to sleep in. There's a heated pool that really comes in handy for those cooler Monterey days and its a very easy drive from the hotel to the aquarium, several beaches, and a nearby target. No microwave in the room but a mini fridge that was great for keeping the drinks we packed cold. We also really liked the split shower tub combo in the bathroom~ the restaurant is very good, though was a little slow the morning we went, and they gave us a coupon for breakfast! The dinner menu was a little too expensive for our taste but every time we walked past and saw people eating the food looked delicious. Oh and another perk, if you like dogs that is, is just how many of them i got to see! Since the place is pet friendly there were plenty of people walking some very sweet pups and everyone was respectful of the leash rules and tidying up after their pets. All in all I would definitely recommend this place and hope to stay here again~"
