"Well run resort. The hotel staff were great. We had half board and both the dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent. Be sure to enjoy the big baths at the hotel. The inside bath has the sulfury water from the main town source in front the hotel. Inside are 3 tubs of different temps. My son and I both liked the middle bath it was “just right”. "Wonderful hospitality, with a historic, step back in time feel. The most kind host who runs the ryokan as the 3rd descendant of the family - it was begun by his grandfather. The property is dated with rough edges but it is a great option at a good price. The town is a sleepy but the few small restaurants we found were so good and cozy. "Rooms were clean, towels and japanese robes replaced each day. The onsens were clean, the outdoor one was usually empty, just for me. The gentleman at the reception was accommodating to us and gave us a few rides from the hotel to different locations (station, monkey park). "

"We love Yuzawa as a get one night get away. We stayed here because someone in our party wanted a private Onsen in the room. The rooms are large and great for families. However, the property is a bit date and the in room tub was small. They have a beautiful waterfall. Too bad it’s not lit at night nor could we go outside to take pictures"
