" This hotel was old and beat. There was no view of the ocean. It was overpriced for what you got. The bathrooms were old and antiquated without any safety features like grab bars in the tub/shower. The shower faucet was falling apart, and they only supplied plastic cups at the sink. The alarm clock did not work and the window had paint falling off of it, and it was inoperable as the crank handle was missing. There was no housekeeping service unless you specifically asked for it before noon, and if you did get it they only dropped off towels and sheets. They left the sheets on the sofa for you to put on. The pool was OK but noisy as it was 10 feet from the main highway. This place was a dump."

"Huge disappointment! Property was not as clean as I was expecting from online reviews. Elevators not working. Vending machines not working. Advertised mini-golf on site, but they charge $12US for a crappy, not maintained putting green. Air conditioner in our room made loud noises 2/5 nights of our stay to the point we couldn’t sleep at all, and manager offered NO compensation. Lounge chairs around the pool were smashed together so tightly, you couldn’t access from the side. The one on-site restaurant served low quality, expensive food. Would not recommend this property at all. "

"We had a great experience at Lago Mar. the beds were very comfortable and they helped us schedule a ride to the airport at 3am. The amenities were all wonderful and we enjoyed our time there and will come again. "

"The front desk staff were great. We weren’t happy with our initial room, and they upgraded us at no charge to a room with a better ocean view. That level of customer service really stood out and was appreciated. Some of the advertising for rooms are bit misleading as they state ocean-view but if you are on the lower levels on one side of the hotel, you really have to turn your head out the window to see the ocean. So these rooms are “partial ocean-view.” Try to stay at level 6-7 or above and you’ll be fine! I’ll rate the room excellent because of the view. The pool area was awesome and provided lots of fun for the kids, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The main downside is the location. The hotel sits at the end of the strip, so there isn’t much within immediate walking distance in terms of restaurants or things to do. The surrounding area also felt a bit rougher compared to other parts of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The rooms are also in need of some updating. The walls were quite banged up and paper thin and the bathroom particularly the shower head, tub, and tiles felt very dated and Dirty almost straight out of the 90s - Especially the furniture. Any noise in the hallway can easily be heard from the hallway. When you’re paying premium prices, you expect a more modern and refreshed space. "
