"We did not feel safe at this hotel. A man who was not a guest was trying to gain access to a room key and was allowed to loiter in the lobby and public bathroom. The room conditions were very old and dirty. I absolutely would not stay here. "

That said, the room itself had some significant comfort issues. The temperature was difficult to deal with. It felt hot and stuffy the entire time, and there was no thermostat or any way to control it. The shower was also frustrating, as the water temperature constantly shifted from hot to cold every few seconds, no matter how I adjusted the knobs. Overall, the location and staff were great, but the lack of temperature control made it hard to fully enjoy the stay. I kept reminding myself that I was in NYC for the experience, not the hotel."
