"Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Hotel offers free shuttle from and to hotel to train station every 20 minutes which makes it extremely convenient for public transportation. Our room has 3 beds and it is a good room size. They also offer two breakfast options: Japanese breakfast meal set of American breakfast buffet. I personally don’t think it is the best breakfast either option but if you like not to worry about looking for breakfast places, it is the way to go. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kyoto. "

"Could not be happier about my 2 days stay at Rakucho ryokan. The room was perfect: clean, quiet, the futon super confortable and the showers/toilets clean and surprisingly quite modern. The host was very welcoming and offered really great suggestions for my stay. The small bike rental shop he suggested (“Bike laboratory”) really made my trip to Kyoto a memorable one. I arrived earlier than check in time, but was able to leave my luggage in a locker in the close by subway station and took this time opportunity to visit the awesome Kyoto botanical garden, a short walk away. Will definitely return."
