Another fantastic stay. My family and I love this location. It is always clean when we arrive. There is plenty of parking and there are convience stores near by. It's 30 min from the ice rink we play at and has become a second home for us. It is also within 30 minutes of almost everything Nikko related.

Our stay at Guesthouse Koundo was excellent. It’s a beautiful home located, in our opinion, in the best spot in Nikko as it is easy to walk to the popular areas as well as catch the bus to go up to the mountain. There are also wonderful neighborhood restaurants to try within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature. My wife and I just completed a delightful 2-day stay at this impeccable property. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The well-designed room was very comfortable and very reasonably priced. The bed was very comfortable as well. The shower had the best shower head we have ever experienced in any hotel ever! This was the perfect, quiet place to rest easy while visiting the nearby shrines and Tobu World Square. Highly recommended!

FU-SHA is an older Japanese-style cottage. Location across street from owner’s home, and minutes walk to amazing river & Kanmanga-fushi Abyss. Serene, beautiful, sacred area. 15 min walk into Nikko town, shrines, famous bridge, and 20 minute walk to both bus/train stations. Cottage is simple, warm, & comfy for those able to sleep futon-style. Bathroom, spacious and efficient. Small kitchenette: refrig, micro, teapot, toaster, dishes and utensils, clothes washer/dryer; no oven or cooktop....

Good spot. We had an all ages group and the teens loved having their very own rooms for a few days. The organization of the hotel was very thoughtful for both Japanese and English-speaking tourists. Eg long list of stuff you can borrow in case you forgot, tea and coffee always available in lobby, robes and slippers, laundry machines (which we didn’t try). Very convenient to buses and trains. Beautiful views of the mountains surrounding Nikko from our rooms.

Beautiful ryokan just steps away from some of the most iconic Nikko destinations. We stayed there for 2 days and were able to walk to everything. The ryokan is spotless, restful, and the dinners and breakfasts were marvelous.

Very easy to get to hotel from Limited express train. The breakfast buffet in the morning was wonderful. Of course the rooms are small and the beds a little hard - but for only 2 nights it was very close to all the attractions!

Made me feel at home.

The hotel is a bit dated but the staff, service and location more than make up for it. We had an excellent stay.

Great location among temples and other historical sites and natural beauty. Relaxing hotel and great staff.
