The hotel is dated but in a lovely location. The staff is friendly.
Wonderful experience. Spacious onsen. Quite a limited selection of breakfast.
I liked free private hot spring with outside view. We have three elementary boys and moms could not have a same gender bath, so we reserved a private bath looking over mountains and bridge view at reception and all family could enjoy hot spring together. Ping Pong tables and karaoke rooms were also ...
The onsen was nice. Bit out of the way to get to though
Not too bad of a place to stay. You get the basic amenities. Showers are in the Onsen areas. Baths in room only have cold water. Separate Western style and Japanese style beds/rooms. But the Onsen was great with indoor and/or awesome cliff side views.
It was very good! The ancient collection of Japanese poetry--the Manyoshu--after which the hotel is named, was even on display in the lobby.
Good size rooms n very well furnished n comfortable . Many onsens in the hotel . 10 min walk to train station.
