"We stayed at the Japanese style house and it was amazing! It was huge and perfect for a family. It also has private indoor and outdoor onsen included in the accommodation just for us. The meals included were great as well, we had teppanyaki for dinner and Japanese breakfast. The accommodation is also close to the Hell's onsen attraction which is just minutes walk away so it's perfect for my parents. The only thing was the outdoor onsen was slightly too hot for us as you cannot adjust the water...

We travelled straight from Fukuoka International Airport to Beppu using a bus that allowed us to alight near Beppu City Hall. From there, it was an easy 5-minute walk. "Excellent ryokan with super friendly staff, we really enjoyed our stay. The cats are cute and well taken care of, the baths are great and the room is pleasant. There is one caveat that needs to be mentioned: This is a cat-*themed* ryokan centered around the cats in the cat cafe that it hosts. The cafe is located inside the ryokan but acts as a separate entity and requires separate payment onsite. Very recommended for cat lovers! :3"

"Nice Japanese boutique hotel within walking distance to town. Single storey Japanese style cottages or rooms (new wing) surrounded by Japanese gardens and features. 4-5 private in door and outdoor onsens to choose from.
