"Locational is phenomenal, rooms are great for what they are. Check in was a little rough, no on sent us a code to get into the building and the door was locked, so we had to get a local from a shop to call the number on the door for someone to let us in. They clean the room and make the beds everyday, staff is very friendly. Highly recommend staying here!"

"The staff were very welcoming and the hotel has recently been refurbished. It was our third time here and the improvements they have made since our first visit in 2010 are very noticeable and have brought the hotel up to a much higher standard."

"Excellent stay at Turim Santa Maria Hotel. Staff couldn't do enough and were super helpful and friendly. Room was modern, clean and had everything I needed. Breakfast buffet was fresh and plenty of it. Good location just back from the seafront and promenade, and easy walking distance to shops and Old Town. The staff pointed me towards their secure storage room to jeep my mountain bike safe during the stay and avoid using my room. A great visit and I must say that I was really comfortable and had a great time. The rooftop terrace and pool was a fantastic bonus. An amazing feature and a great place to spend time. Pool was chilly - but this is a February visit. Good hotel, good value and recommended. "

"The relentless road traffic noise from the 3 roads ( 2 of which are main trunk roads into funchal with non stop busses and coaches) spoilt what is otherwise a very good appartment. It has all you need in it and the location ( other than being on a trunk road) is great . The check in process is a pain if you have not sent copy of your passport ahead. The B&B you have to find is at least 1/2 mile away and up steep steps. Also, finding the appartment was initially not very easy on google maps. "
