"The location and privacy of this bohemian style inn make this a great stay in Del Ray. Steps from the best restaurants and yet totally quiet. Minutes to walk to the beach and parks. The staff was attentive but not on site (which added to the intimacy, like you had the place to yourself). Loved the self serve Kureg coffee bar, with organic coffee, plus wine glasses (I hate plastic cups). Parking and amazing/delicious full service breakfast were free, adding to the value. Style wise, it is eclectic- a mash up of fountains, plants, imported antiques, mosaic tile and quirky architectural details. That might not suit everyone’s minimalist aesthetic but we found it a relief from bland, generic hotels. "

"First, not a cheap hotel so maybe our expectations were high. So we chose March 17 in hopes of avoiding summer crowds. We go to the pool on this hot day and shortly after, no less than 5 kids (5 or 6 yr olds give or take) are unleashed into the pool. No school? The screaming, splashing and the noise. Then one gets a bloody nose and dad just hands him a napkin (while in the pool no less) while jr just keeps washing his nose in the pool water. I think the napkin eventually dissolved in the pool. Then the other rug rats proclaim they just peed in the pool. When did parents become so utterly clueless? Fine, skip the pool. I’ll go get a margarita instead. $26 + a surge charge and a small tip, $28 later. Good rita, but not that good. The kids weren’t necessarily the hotel’s fault, but the overpriced marg was, considering the abundance of bars and restaurants immediately around the property, their price gauging seemed over the top. Thanx, but never again. But hey, hope you enjoy your stay though. But leave your d**n kids at home and don’t buy drinks there. Go across the street."

"We stayed one night and chose this property for its advertised “on the beach” location. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations for the price. The room was decent but outdated, with no air conditioning. To get airflow, you must open doors/windows, but there are no screens, so bugs come in. Privacy is also limited, as people from the nearby park can see directly inside. A major issue was the train, which runs every 10–20 minutes and is very loud. Since the tracks sit between the property and the ocean—and windows must stay open—you hear it constantly. The property is not truly “on the beach.” A railroad track and cliff separate it from the ocean, and beach access requires walking through a nearby park. While not far, this feels misleading. Additional drawbacks included no breakfast or on-site dining, limited laundry (2 machines), cleanliness issues (cobwebs), and construction noise disclosed only after booking a non-refundable stay. Checkout expectations (taking out trash, loading dishwasher, etc.), along with a tip envelope and reminder text, felt excessive. While the kitchen was nice and the beach is nearby, the stay did not justify the cost and felt misleading overall."
