Views of the coastline from the outdoor air bath and east access to the beach for swimming and surfing were a highlight. We were a little sad the pool was closed and not maintained but the room was very authentic and really fun to stay in. It was the traditional experience we were looking for and the private onsen in room was wonderful to relax in. This is a very small town so if you do not want to hunt for dinner, I would recommend booking...

"This place was like an old abandoned japanese traditional style house, it’s good for only sleep at night.. The best thing of this property is it near to Shirahama beach which is the best beach in Shimoda in my opinion.. They don’t have parking which was inconvenient.."
