"Small, quite and clean guesthouse. Kind and helpful staff. Delicious food. Traditional room and beds (mats on he floor) and shared bathrooms."

"Staff was friendly and working hard. Room was clean, comfortable and nicely updated… but they’re fighting an uphill battle against an aging run down building with apparently a long-broken elevator for 6 floors. Great price on difficult to find lodging in the area."

"The staff were very sweet and patient, and worked really hard to meet every needs of their customers. They even gifted us homemade blueberry jam and stickers when we checked out! ✨"

"The staff is incredible! The owner, Chris, is so inviting and welcoming as is the rest of the staff. There is a shuttle you can book to take you to the mountains, dinners, train station. The restaurant in the hotel is so good though as well. The rooms are very clean and they offer robes and sandals for the baths / showers. "

"A beautiful and rustic ryokan run by a lovely older couple and their son. The building and it’s location are incredible, just a short walk from Yudanaka Station and Shibu Onsen. "

"The room was clean, the bathroom and shower were a bit run down but usable. If you plan to ski or eat at Nozawa Onsen it makes it very difficult. The first shuttle from Togario Onsen to Nozawa is at 9:24am and the last one was o round 4pm. No taxi after 6, so you cannot eat dinner in Nozawa staying here. While it is not the hotels responsibility, it made dining options very limited. The front desk staff was unfriendly, apart from the hosts wife who tired her best to arrange accommodation. "
