"5 unique private onsens for those with tattoos they were busy but a short wait and you were able to use any of them and late at night they were all available. A kaiseki dinner which I had never experienced was amazing! Staff were so friendly and we even got free Japanese attire provided by the hotel. A truly outstanding place to stay."

"If you are looking for a traditional ryokan and a more remote area, this is the perfect place. Although it is about 45 mins from Kyoto train station, you will not be disappointed. The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. "This is a traditional ryokan, and my second stay. First time was back in 2016 by myself. This time came here to stay with my wife. Bery friendly staff. I had a much better experience first time around, two ladies came and showed me how to change into a yukata and prepared my bed. Everything was more personal, this time they were a little busy. Too many guests. Still amazing experience. You can reserve the onsen for yourself privately. The dinner experience is a little expensive but worth it. "

"TL;DR: Great location and room cleanliness/amenities ROOMS (5/5): ~Spacious rooms ~Safe, drawers, mini-fridge, and closet available ~Bathroom is spacious; toilet is separated by a door ~Water pressure was great ~Bathrooms provide toothbrushes, facial products, and toiletries ~TV has mirroring capabilities ~Beds and sheets were so comfortable SERVICE (4/5): ~Staff is very friendly ~They do not have a concierge service ~Daily house keeping comes around (instructions on how to get sheets and towels changed are on cards in the room) ~Check-in (in person) and check-out (electronic kiosk) was very easy FACILITIES (5/5): ~So close to the Kyoto station ~They have a gym (very small) ~Massage chairs are available for 300 Yen ~Public bath is available for certain hours (have soaking pool, showers, mist sauna, lockers, vanity area) ~Coin laundry available (there is a website where you can monitor the progress of your laundry unit) ~Vending machines available on site ~The breakfast buffet always smelled amazing, but we were unable to try it Overall, would definitely stay here again"
