A surprising gem in Waikiki. No, it's not on the beach. And no, it's not a giant resort. But what we loved about it was the great location (5-8 minute walk to Waikiki Beach), friendly staff (always smiling and saying hello), and consistently clean hotel. Yes, it is an older hotel. But we didn't come to stay in Waikiki to stay inside. We greatly appreciated how the staff made us feel welcomed. From the valet, check-in, cleaning, restaurant, and maintenance everyone made our stay simply wonderful.

I've stayed previously at this "hotel" before. I learned from this experience, you need to make sure you're renting from a unit that is under the control and management of the local management group and not a remote 3rd party, which was the case this time. Basically, because we rented from a offsite management company, the local front desk and local staff would not provide any service or support. We arrived and had some questions and the front desk staff bascally handed you a small piece of paper with a phone number for you to call for help. That was it!! for the entire visit, the front desk staff basically ignored us and wouldn't even offer even so much as a simple greeting when we came in and out of the building. That was the first aspect. Secondly, the hotel is going through a remodel, so every floor look like a war zone and had construction people around every day. It would have been nice to known that going into this "vacation". Lastly, the room was dated and in disrepair. From a small tiny wall unit AC trying to cool off the entire space (which, it couldn't) to old, outdated and broken furniture. Our couch was missing a leg and being held up by a can of paint!! The bathroom was a disaster, the tub in disrepair and poorly stocked. We had to buy our own toilet paper and supplies, since the place wasn't stocked well. And I get it we were only there for 5 days, but it would have been nice to have someone check on us at least once during our stay. Stay Away!
