"The property was really well maintained. the balcony has an excellent view of the volcano. the staff were very nice and accomodating. They were also very responsive when we messaged them. location of this property is also very good and close to all activities. A very excellent coffee and chocolate tour is right across the street from this property. a grocery store is also very close (30 second drive) to buy groceries. hot tub was clean and well maintained."

"I cannot say enough good things about Tifakara. Our stay was magical. From the wildlife off our back balcony (the rare treat of seeing a whole troop of monkeys!), the frog tour was thrilling, the daily included breakfast delicious and a perfect way to start a day of adventures in La Fortuna, to the luxurious accommodations (I’m forever spoiled by the remote controlled bidet toilet). All that would have been more than enough. But by far the best part about Tifakara is the staff. They were warm and accommodating and attended to us without feeling obtrusive. Everyone was beyond friendly and the warmth and genuineness was palpable. We loved every moment of our stay at Tifakara and if we’re ever fortunate enough to return to La Fortuna we would stay nowhere else."

"About an hour from San Jose and STRONGLY recommend at least 1 or 2 nights coming to or from. This is an extraordinary experience. The casitas are over the top, but the 5 waterfalls hike, the Aviary, Frog experience, Big Cats and Butterfly house will blow your mind. It is all rescued animals given the best experience that could be created. I will find a way to visit there EVERY time I go to Costa Rica."

"I stayed at Hotel Secreto for one night as a part of my trip to Costa Rica and it is a great spot! It was beautiful, had delicious breakfast and the staff were excellent! I arrived around 11 with a shuttle from San Jose and they let me start the check in process early and held my backpack for me while I adventured until I was able to receive my key at normal check in time! When I made it back over it was drizzling and one of the kind reception workers actually walked me to my room with an umbrella. The next morning, I was waiting for my shuttle to Monteverde and another one of the reception workers actually called them to ensure my ride was on the way! I left around sunset for a hot spring reservation and got lucky with a gorgeous view of the volcano. And the next morning, I even saw a three toed sloth in the parking lot before getting into my shuttle!!"

"Hotel Boutique Casa del Río was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip! Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, the property is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for nature lovers. Our room was beautiful, and waking up to the soothing sound of the rushing river each morning was incredibly peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh tropical fruits, fresh juices, and a flavorful traditional Costa Rican breakfast. The view of the volcano from the restaurant in the morning was breathtaking. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel, and the food was equally delicious and full of flavor. What truly made our stay exceptional was the service. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to please, but Ramses and Maria deserve special recognition. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay and were the true definition of exceptional customer service. This was honestly one of the best hotel service experiences I’ve had to date. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, amazing views, and outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend Casa del Río and will definitely be back! 🌿🇨🇷"
