Located in the mountains very close to La Poas. Very fun quirky setting. Nice and quiet overlooking the city. Great typical Costa Rican breakfast included.
Our shipping container room was amazing! Big tub and shower and beautiful views!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous. My partner and I really loved the tub. The shower was very nice, good water pressure and never ran out of hot water filling the giant tub and taking hot showers. It was a very unique property which was beautiful to walk around and interact with the dogs and other animals on the property.

The room was very clean. Had all your basic amenities. Everything you’d need to feel comfortable during your stay. The staff is incredibly friendly & welcoming. They were helpful with any questions we had & recommending food & activities in the area. The animals on the property were an added bonus. Very sweet dog, cat & donkey that you can also interact with. The breakfast was traditional Costa Rican style. Eggs, rice & beans, plantains, with a side of toast & fresh fruit. Overall the property was very homey & peaceful. A lot of love was put into the property. I would definitely stay again!

Grds. tolle Unterkunft. Das "Iglu" war echt toll. Leider reicht der Vorrat an Warmwasser nicht und die Badewanne auf einmal zu füllen. Eher auf dreimal. Die Mitarbeiter waren OK, aber jetzt nicht hoch bemüht. Die Lage zum Poas Vulkan geht nicht besser

We stayed in a shipping container! It wasn't a real room. It was cold. They provided us with 2 noisy space heaters that didn't heat enough. Sheets and blankets felt itchy. We couldn't sleep much. Staff was nice. Location and view were amazing. Breakfast was excellent. I don't recommend to stay there if you are hoping for a nice comfortable stay.

Romiro was great helping us out with a walkthrough of the property. Amazing location, great views from the room and from the lush green lawns next to the reception. Jacuzzi was great add on with great views.

Unfortunately we only spent one night here. Beautiful property we wish we could have enjoyed more. The included morning breakfast was excellent. A wonderful breakfast plate is freshly made as you enter their dining area. You don't order anything, they just bring you an tasty Costa Rican breakfast - really one of my highlights of our trip. And having Roberto, the donkey, hang out nearby was fun. Although he kind of woke us up early with his donkey "call" - all good tho. How many times do you get woken up by a donkey? The view overlooking the city was very cool. And speaking of cool, bring a sweatshirt! You may think Costa Rica is 100% warm and tropical - it's not! The Poas volcano is up around 9,000 ft in elevation, so it's cold up there. When we arrived at Hotel Altura the temperature was in the 50's. I wasn't expecting that, nor prepared for that either. A wonderful little find located very close to the Poas Volcano. If Poas is your first stop on your Costa Rican vacation, you can't go wrong staying here. After our stay here, we headed to La Paz Waterfalls which is on the way to Arenal.

My family absolutely loved this place. Kiddos loved the playground, open space and of course the donkey. What a treasure this location is. Highly recommend. The hosts, food and rooms were all great.
