Harbour Hotel Guildford

"The hotel was very comfortable, and its location near the city center made it easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 for one reason. Our room was advertised as a nice window room, but the window looked into a dirty structure with barbed wire, inside the building, overlooking the lounge. I kept the curtains closed the whole stay because looking out gave me the major ick. I would suggest covering those windows with an opaque film that still lets light through, so guests don't have to see the garbage right outside."

"The Asperion is a lovely hotel - beautifully decorated with good beds and all necessary amenities including beautiful towels. I think it is best suited to business travellers rather than visitors to the area. There were no maps or brochures describing nearby attractions. Their recommended taxi was a limousine service - very expensive - as was the breakfast offered. It is a relatively short walk from the train station but it is up a fairly steep hill so not suitable for older folk or those with heavy cases. The staff were mostly helpful and the location is good for shopping and eateries."

"Place itself is a good location being nearby to shops and a 10 minute walk uphill to the center of town. The room is nice and comfortable, a small bathroom but that is to be wxpected around Guildford, albeit a bit surprising for the price. Only issue i felt was no lifts, which was an issue with the number of suitcases we had as we are travelling around. Not a fault of the hotel as we should have checked, but just made it less than ideal for us"

"This lodging had very good beds, it was generally clean, and the basic necessities were all there. You could definitely hear people walking on the floor above, so not great sound insulation. The continental breakfast wasn't worth the price for us - the toaster didn't toast all that well, and the fresh fruit was quite limited. Overall, though, we had a safe clean place to sleep, which is what we most needed."

"We loved staying in this property. It had so much charm and was very well kept. It was very close to Guildford which was great for walking in to go to the pubs and shops. It’s a 5 minute walk to the train which was excellent for commuting into London. Would definitely recommend. The only caution I would say is that the stairs are very steep so if staying with elderly or young kids to be mindful. Otherwise great stay!"
