Alte Schmiede - Hufschmied

Our vacation rental is located on the upper floor above the old smithy and features one bedroom with a double bed and a sleeper sofa (140) and another bedroom with a double bed. The living room is modernly furnished and includes a cozy sofa area that can be converted into a sleeping area. Entertainment is provided by the flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi internet access. 

The kitchen is separate and includes a dining area; it connects all the rooms. The bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower, a bathtub, a heated towel rack, as well as a sink, a toilet, and a washer and dryer. 

Parking for this apartment is available directly in front of the building on the public street.



These modern, recently renovated vacation homes are located in the courtyard of the Alte Schmiede in Stralsund. The Alte Schmiede is part of Stralsund’s UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a symbol of 19th-century urban development. It is located in one of Stralsund’s most popular neighborhoods, between the Old Town and the harbor. This is the perfect starting point for your vacation near the Baltic Sea coast.

Our “Zum Hufschmied” apartment is located on the upper floor of the Alte Schmiede and has been completely rebuilt within its historic walls. The “Zum Stallmeister” vacation home is the blacksmith’s old stable building, which has been expanded and fully renovated.

The quiet yet central location of our accommodations is particularly noteworthy. The train station is about a 15-minute walk away, but can also be reached via nearby bus stops. The connection to the highway access road makes the trip here extremely convenient. All of the city’s sights, the harbor, and the beach are within walking distance, and there are numerous restaurants nearby. Everything you need for daily life is also right nearby and can be reached on foot or by bike. Bakeries and all kinds of shopping options are available on nearby Frankendamm—just around the corner, so to speak—as are bus stops, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies. As a standalone historic landmark, the old blacksmith’s shop embodies 19th-century urban development. The blacksmith’s former stable building has been modernized and converted into a state-of-the-art vacation home. The interior of the blacksmith’s shop itself has been completely renovated. This blend of historic charm and modern living creates a unique atmosphere.
