Very beautiful campus but we had to leave SF way early to avoid the rush hour traffic. When I mapped it from our hotel to Palo Alto, it was 55 min if we leave at 6 am, 1 hour 15 min at 6:30, and over 2 hours if we leave between 7:30-8. It was nice to get to Stanford at 7 am for our 9:30 am tour. We had time to visit the brand new Stanford Hospital and the health science campus. Very impressive place.
Santa Clara Best western inn rooms clean and 6:30 breakfast was good clean area quiet 4341 El Camino Real good for night.

excellent art collections, modern, contemporary and classical. beautiful campus and excellent book stores, amazing concerts and lectures....
Internet says to visit The Tower for a good view of the campus, however, it is very hard to access the Tower. You can't drive on campus so you have to park at the Visitors Center and pay $16 to park. The Tower is very far to walk to.
Don’t leave ANYTHING in vehicle. Car broken into.
