St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park Tours

St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park which includes dangerous animals, zoo animals and marine life
Feed and pet an alligator, hold a snake and meet a range of colorful and unusual reptiles and birds at one of Florida’s longest-running attractions.

Discover a world of fascinating reptiles at St. Augustine Alligator Farm. Walk through the Land of Crocodiles and encounter every type of crocodile species in the world. Watch alligators eating their lunch and have a go at feeding them yourself. Learn about Florida’s native reptiles and don’t miss the colorful Birds of Africa exhibit, where large storks and cranes stride among the grasses.

St. Augustine Alligator Farm was founded in 1893 when George Reddington and Felix Fire began collecting alligators on Anastasia Island. The farm soon became a major attraction and tourists have been drawn to see these majestic creatures ever since.

Start by visiting the rare Albino alligators from Louisiana. Their pale skin and large yellow eyes make for an impressive sight. Legend has it that if you gaze at these alligators you will receive good luck. Equally impressive is the Land of Crocodiles exhibit. This is the only zoo in the world to contain all 23 species of crocodile. Meet the miniature Chinese crocodile and the rare Nile crocodile.

Head to the Florida Native Reptile and Amphibian House to learn about the snakes, toads and other species that live in the area. Make sure you visit the Exotic Birds and Mammals area, which is home to five species of monkey and colorful birds.

One of the farm’s highlights is the daily alligator feeding. Marvel at the alligators’ strong jaws as they devour their lunch. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also feed some of the smaller ones yourself. Other interactive shows include bird feeding and a reptile show where you can hold a snake.

Stop for lunch in the Toucantina, which serves snacks and larger meals. The dining area overlooks the Galapagos tortoise exhibit.

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm is located on the north side of Anastasia Island, a short drive from the center of St. Augustine. It is open daily and an entry fee applies, with discounted rates for children.
