The staff was fairly helpful, though I needed to figure a few things out myself (language barrier may have contributed, which is certainly not their fault). "Staying at Ten-Yu was one of the highlights of my trip. The surroundings are beautiful and it feels very secluded but still simple to get to the main areas of hakone to explore. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The onsens are beautiful and felt like a well deserved treat. Free sparkling wine in the evening was an added bonus (along with free ice creams!). One night was not enough, I really hope to stay again. "

"The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. They had someone that could communicate in English to help with the check in. The hotel has plenty of restaurants including a TGI Fridays for those wanting a burger and fries. The 7 Eleven downstairs had plenty to choose from in case you had a late run. The hotel was very clean and the room had a beautiful view to the city. "
