"Staff were great and the room was very clean"

"Lovely quiet property with friendly staff who were happy to book restaurants taxis etc. Pool was very small & really only suitable as a plunge rather than a swim. Breakfast was well presented with a good variety of products. The feature I was not happy with was checking in at an alternative guest house but no directions given on where it was. We were advised it was not safe to walk after dark necessitating taxi use. Plettenberg Bay has lovely beaches which are great to stroll along."

However, overall I was quite disappointed, I had expected a proper hotel and a much more luxurious experience given we paid over $500 per night. "The stay was really good and comfortable. The hosts waited for us to check-in and were very nice. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made as per our requests specially since I am vegetarian. The hosts gave us recommendations for local sites. The garden outside the room was very beautiful as well!"

"We had bats living in our roof, apparently knowingly by the owner (they built a house for them on the near cabin and they migrated to ours). We had to go to bed and sleep with constraint scratching and sliding noises, that was terrible. When we brought it to the attention of the team, they didn’t even bother apologising. The dinning experience over dinner and breakfast was terrible - worst service I’ve seen for a while and average food (it’s quite expensive considering its surroundings). Stay...

"This was misleading advertising on Hotels.com. I selected a tent with 2 queen beds and a bunk bed for about R1700. Just before we arrived I got a call from the hosts and let them know that 2 friends would arrive 30 minutes before us. I was told that I would have to pay an additional R790 for them because they charge extra each person over 2. This was not made clear on the app. This accommodation was not worth over R2,500 for the night. Unhappy guests who feel ripped off."
