Vidanta has become an annual trip for our family. It has something for everyone and can be made as casual or fancy of a visit as you want. The food is excellent and easily accommodates dietary restrictions (we have a celiac and also an anaphylactic in our family). There’s no doubt that is has earned the AAA Five Diamond rating.
The SUITE: 2 bedroom totalling 1,825 sqft with a full kitchen incl. all dinnerware and cooking utensils, dining room and living room that comfortably hosts the whole family. The private bedrooms are also huge and give you a private space to relax with sitting areas, a desk, or the very comfy bed and pillows. A large patio with private plunge pool to relax with a morning coffee or evening beverage.
The BUILDING: each building connects to a trail system that is excellent for a jog or to go watch the trees for monkeys or the ground for cute hogs and coati. There are also wooden walkways that ascend up into the trees for excellent bird watching and for the kids to explore.
The RESORT: Here's where the magic is. You can find your favorite beach or pool spot, or you can visit a different pool every day. The property is world class. Spend time and the Grand Mayan Infinity Pool which overlooks the lagoon and Del Lago restaurant and has it's own sand beach and lazy river flowing into it beside the rope swing bar. Visit the Grand Mayan Sanctuary Pool which has a pool bar and several pool offshoots with private lounging areas and numerous unique cabanas; days can be spent here without having the same day twice. The latter is also said for the main pool, being the second largest in Latin America it offers several pool bars, and infinity edge, entertainment and activities, kids club, kid-appropriate depth areas and quieter relaxing areas.
Restaurants are in no shortage and are excellent quality and service. Over 15 restaurants are spread out which offers a relaxing dining experience where you don’t feel like you have to rush to beat the entire resort to find a table. As mentioned above, there are options and modifications for all dietary restrictions including medically critical ones like anaphylaxis and celiac. The staff took excellent care to ask and verify with the head chef. You can dine over the water of a pool, in a private table along the beach of Salum, or from the comfort of your beach lounger. Everything from authentic Mexican dishes to Japanese to Italian to smokehouse favorites and that all-so-important hot dog for the kids can be found at Vidanta.
Entertainment premiums like Cirque du Soleil and Jungala are a must. One day is always spent at Jungala floating the 2nd largest lazy river in Latin America (visible from Google) which has two “pullouts” to refill your beverage at the pool bars, a huge splash park with endless water features and slides, a large slide area with a 4-storey tube slide and fast slides including one that does and inverted loop, and crucially a warm pool that’s rubber lined and sidewalked for the very little ones.
Golf: The Jack Nicklaus course is awesome and we can provide discounted course fees. Please contact to discuss.
Spas and Fitness: There are two gorgeous spas, a well equipped fitness center and themed running paths throughout the property.
The staff are excellent and make you feel very special and appreciated. Most speak excellent English (less the non-service folks like house or grounds keeping). It is a large place but if you spend your first day taking note of the important
