On the edge of the Lake District National Park, you can soon be on the shores of Ullswater, or enjoying a scenic ride on the lake’s famous steamers. Fell walkers have an abundance of classic paths from which to choose, from gentle low level strolls to demanding hikes up Helvellyn. The popular market town of Penrith has an array of independent shops, delightful arcades and numerous pubs, cafés and restaurants.
