Hotel Höfn

"This was a cozy hotel but we checked in late and had to wait 10 minutes for the front desk staff to get there because he was in the laundry area. Not a huge deal but when it’s late and you’re tired, that 10 minutes felt long. Then we were told our rooms were in a separate building down the road but not given super clear directions of how to reach it and the front desk didn’t walk out to show us so we ended up roaming around the various buildings trying to figure out where our rooms were. Again after a long day, it’s cold and you’re hauling luggage and backpacks, not the best experience. The rooms were okay. Bed was comfortable and the cleanliness overall was good but not great. Old furniture and paint, etc. just not super fresh and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and one of the best parts of the stay. We enjoyed and appreciated this very much. Overall I’d give it a 7/10. If I were in Höfn again, I’d probably look at other options but if I stayed here again, I would be fine with it too."

"Couple travelling from Canada, this place was lively and a nice stay in a pretty fishing town. The hostel has lots of rooms, a full kitchen and eating area, lots of showers, laundry spaces, and parking. Although there were many people everyone settled in for the night so sleeping wasn’t an issue. We would stay again!"

"Check in was a breeze. Clean room. TV not connected to any cable or satellite. Unusable. Disappointing. Door handle came off one of the bathrooms. Was able to put it back together. All door handles felt like they were about to come off. Needs more towel bars in kitchen. Neighbors left wet towels in bathroom. Bedside table too large and positioned where storage was unusable. Sparks shot out the back of lamp when turned on. Immediately unplugged lamp. Bathroom faucet was loose. Check out was easy. Can’t recommend this property."
