正直、二度と利用したくありません。 予定していた日より1日前倒しで旅行することになり、いつも利用しているお気に入りの宿が空いていなかったため、別府市内で空いているこちらを予約しました。 まず駐車場が狭すぎます。 駐車する場所が決められているため、手前に大きな車が停まっていると非常に停めにくく、かなり苦労しました。 そして、部屋に入った瞬間から全体的に嫌な臭いがしました。 さらにソファーはシミだらけで、見た瞬間に「これは座れない」と思うほど。 子どもにも触らせたくありませんでした。少なくともソファーカバーなどを使用したほうがいいと思います。 一番困ったのはベッドです。 シーツからおじさんのような臭いがして、横になっても臭いが気になり、とても快適に眠れる状態ではありませんでした。 それだけではなく、棚や冷蔵庫の上にはほこりが溜まり、床はザラザラ、テーブルもベタベタ。 「清掃していますか？」と思ってしまうほど、掃除が行き届いていない印象でした。 また、2階に宿泊されていたお子さんのドタバタする足音もかなり大きく、夜も落ち着いて過ごせませんでした。 こちらは宿側だけの問題ではないとは思いますが、宿泊施設として何らかの防音対策や注意喚起があってもいいのではないかと思います。 大人2名・子ども1名で11,178円でした。 料金が安いからある程度は仕方ない、と思うようにしていましたが、今回の「臭い」「汚れ」「清掃状態」は、価格以前の問題だと感じました。 本当に残念でした。 「安く泊まれれば多少は気にしない」という方ならいいのかもしれませんが、清潔さや快適さを求める方にはおすすめできません。 私はもう二度と利用しません。

Yufuin Gems was the perfect choice for my short stay. Located one block from the train station and just a few doors from the bus station, logistics were extremely simple. It’s also .6 km from the West trailhead for Mount Yufu, the reason for my trip. Walking through Yufuin from the hotel is an ease. The room was very large, extremely clean. The bath was a shower and a huge comfy soaking tub, which was handy after my nine mile hike. Downstairs the check-in desk also serves as a really cute cafe/bar staffed by the nicest and most helpful workers. If I ever travel to Yufuin again, I’ll stay at Gems!

The highlight of this hotel is definitely its common area located on the same floor as the sento/public bath. The sento was not tattoo friendly, but I had no issue using it with a tattoo cover. After your bath you can enjoy a free beer or soft drink and lounge around reading manga. They had many volumes of One Piece! The breakfast buffet was excellent! There were several local dishes to try and everything tasted really good. HOWEVER, The walls in the rooms are very thin! My spouse and I had a hard time falling asleep and ended up having to use the air conditioner as a white-noise machine. The layout of the room was fine, a little snug, but not too bad. The bathroom was the smallest bathroom I've ever seen! Barely enough space to stand in.
