Can’t say enough good about the staff. This place was such a fun experience. We did three nights and maybe we should have done just two only because of the futons on the floor and we’re not as young as we use to be. Also, if I had one minor suggestion it would be for them to have a means to get coffee on site. I totally get it’s an experience and they have tea but for us coffee drinkers.. we gotta have it! Lol

One of the most incredible stays of my life. The resort is beautiful with lots of onsens. The staff were very sweet and professional. They were very accommodating to upgrade my room for my honeymoon. The breakfast and dinner is soooo delicious. Highly recommend

Maybe the best hotel experience I've ever had. Room was amazing, with an onsen overlooking the sea. Shared onsens also available at the property were fantastic and provided a moonlit soak in a secluded grove. The staff was the picture of hospitality - warm, accommodating, and endlessly helpful. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Will be back for sure.

My family of 3 stayed two nights at Hinodeya and it was a wonderful experience all around! This was our first visit to the Izu-Penninsula and we had such a great time. Wonderful stay at Ryokan Kikuya. It's picturesque, with the stream running through it. Impeccable service, attentive yet discreet. Situated at the heart of Shuzenji Onsen town, one can go on short or long walks with interesting sites to visit.

Fantastic traditional feel onsen hotel, with both public and private onsen baths, comfortable western rooms, public spaces and amenities (robes, refreshments, late night complimentary ramen, etc. Near scenic river run , quaint shops and restaurants, shrines, temples and bamboo groves, all within walking distance. Amazing breakfast buffet, well worth the upgrade.

Breakfast was excellent. Variety of choice and very healthy food. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly.

The room was fantastic. We loved it. The beds were so comfortable and the view was so beautiful. We used the onsen and it was magical because we had a full moon. The bath products they have for the guests and the onsen user are the best smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash i have ever used in my 51 years. Very clean room and attentive staff. We enjoyed a half board each day and were met with an exquisite multitude of Japanese traditional foods and delicacies. The surrounding town is quiet, and uber/taxi is available for travel. This is an amazing experience to immerse yourself in Japanese culture, reset, and unwind. I love the hotel. Tsukino is an interesting and successful synthesis of traditional ryokan atmosphere with modern facilities. While my room comes with TV, fridge, western-style couch, a king sized bed, and a modern bathroom, the rest of the decoration is Japanese in style. The room also comes with a tube in the balcony. The balcony faces a very steep hill with dense foliage around 40 feet away. Thus I was able to take my baths in open air with ensured privacy. The 6th floor of the hotel...
