"Milton at the front desk was amazing! The entire bar and restaurant staff were wonderful as well. The hotel is in a great location if you want to walk and shop in Hilo as well. "

"House was very unique and fun with the wrap around second level porch/lanai. House was clean, each of the three rooms had its own full bathroom w/ shower. Beds were large. View was amazing and you can hear the waterfall on the property. Check in/out was easy, good communication with the host. The description did not clearly state that the only stairway between the levels was outdoor therefore requires you to unlock the door by keypad when going from one level to the other. This was not a big issue, but was a bit of a surprise. With kids, it was more difficult to enjoy the second level living area while they were in bed. The drive up to the house may require 4-wheel drive because it is steep and was raining during our stay. Was no issue for the rental Jeep Wrangler, but may be for a FWD car. The fruit stand on the way in was great and the coffee and shave ice place in the small town was amazing (check their hours). And the 'Akaka Falls are a short drive away and worth the visit."

"Super friendly staff. It's a no frills sort of place-but so homey and sweet. Our family suite was a great size. Working A/C and great to have a kitchen. No TV in the room, but we weren't there to be inside all day-the beach is where it's at. The beach that you can walk to was so perfect for my family. Really enjoyed our stay. "
