"Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were nice, and clean. I love that the rooms were not carpeted, but and nice, new clean floors! The outside areas were nice and had seating for visiting to! Lots of restaurant and shopping options in the area as well!"

Fun place to visit when touring the Black Hills, and the perfect base for day trips to all the attractions the area offers. The 1880s train ride is a plus as are the local museums.

We love this place because it is in the center, and a great homebase to allow us to branch out and explore everything around in the Black Hills.

Try the Lemongrass for dinner. It's a limited menu but wonderfully prepared. Also, if you like old trains, they have an excursion train that travels between Hilly City and Keystone. Found out too late to try it ourselves.

Out of the towns around this area, Hill City was favorite and were glad this is where we stayed. We ate out 3 different times and all 3 places had great service and food. Shops and dining were also in walking distance.

Great restaurants and cute little shops, but not too much. It was a little busy when we were there, but not terrible. Much better than Custer.

Close to Mt. Rushmore and Custer. Sylvan Lake and Needles Highway was a fun side trip.

Interesting shops, decent restaurants. Several businesses were closed for the season, which is to be expected. We were looking forward to dinner at the 1885 Steakhouse but when we arrived, a sign on the door stated it was closed for a private party.

Seems like a nice place in the "season" which we were not in...most is closed for the winter. Certainly a cute place to explore the Black Hills from
