"This hotel is an absolutely beautiful location of Kyoto and in walking distance of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Pontocho Alley, and the rest of Gion. The property is beautifully kept and clean in a minimalist, Japanese fashion. The rooms (or at least mine) was small but welcoming and met all needs. The staff is friendly and helpful. There were some occasional language barriers, but we are truly the guests in this hotel and country and it was an overall wonderful experience."

"Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff very friendly. Room was compact .. as described by the hotel .. the bed is huge and really comfy and as the photos show on the website it literally fits wall to wall. This means you literally have to climb in and out from the bottom. Minimal hanging room for essentials and just enough room to have our suitcases on the floor. Room is modern and has amenities such as kettle / hairdryer. Small sofa to sit on. Would definitely recommend "

"Stayed here for three nights during Sakura season. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. I feel like it was in a central part of Kyoto. The room was small by United States standards but bigger than our Tokyo hotel room. The air conditioning was excellent and the beds/pillows were comfy. "

"The first room we had was dirty so they quickly changed us to a clean room. They are militant about taking your shoes off here, we loved the free dessert bar, but overall the hotel was absolutely packed with tourists and kind of crazy. The staff, however, went above and beyond to take care of every need we had. The rooms are small for us Americans but the bed was comfortable. "

Only draw back is the location is a 10-15 minute walk to train station and restaurant area. They also did not have room for us for dinner in the hotel lobby "
