"The Cambie Hostel in Gastown offers what travelers on a budget are looking for: a safe, warm place to sleep, a hot shower, a place to store/cook food & eat, laundry facilities, a couch to lounge on.
Its proximity to the Skytrain/downtown are the trade-off for bar's loud music & old building. I think it's well worth it.
I would suggest visitors bring earplugs & an open mind. It's not a hotel and it doesn't claim to be - it's an affordable, safe way to visit an amazing city.

Our room on the street so there was some traffic noise. we were able to walk to Gastown, but we took a $20 cab to Yaletown. lots of shopping and restaurants on commercial Street."
