"Very welcoming staff. Nice room with comfy bed, good size and lovely shampoos etc. devour a bit dated but doesn’t detract. Annoying constant type dripping noise through the night from the old heating system but room was warm. Great location eith the Great Western Road and Byers Road on the doorstep and the Botanics across the road. Would book again "

"Avoid at all costs Staff are unhelpful and borderline rude. Booked a double room for sole occupancy and was given a twin room. When I protested this was not what was booked I was fobbed off. I asked to speak to the duty manager and waited over 30 minutes before going back to reception. Duty manager was aware I’d asked to speak to them but decided I wasn’t her priority. Fobbed off that the hotel was fully booked and could not change my room and offer no alternative so agreed they would give me a refund and checked out. Went to another hotel. Now radio silence and struggle to get an answer from them with regards the refund. This hotel is tired and dated and the room I was given just felt unclean so I wasn’t prepared to stay there. Won’t be going back "

"Stay it wasn’t pleasure at all. Electric problem with my room The bed was cracking like crazy I couldn’t sleep. Food, it was horrible. Service it was horrible, I was scared to ask for anything. I think they should treat the stuff to smile a bit more. I have visit other Apex Hotels and my experience it wasn’t like this. "

"The hotel needs renovation.The food in the restaurant was terrible and expensive! if you order a pie or smoked fish, know that they are bought from a supermarket and are just reheated. "

"Room was beautiful and clean, breakfast staff was lovely however our "bucket list" stay was incredibly dampened due to the dinner staff member. She was quite avoidant and disinterested and would audibly sigh when walking away from customers. Extremely disappointed in the meals as most things were unavailable on a Friday night and there was only one steak cut option and only one chicken out of 3 on the menu available. None of this was told to us until ordering even tbough we were handed the menu 5 minutes earlier. We had to ask for water near the end of the meal as it wasn't offered even though it was for other diners. It was supposed to be the highlight of our holiday from Australia and it let usdown. "Staff were very helpful and keen to serve us. The two guys who looked after us went above and beyond. When I asked about leaving a gratuity on the card payment they advised it will take some time for them to see any of it. Is that correct?"

"To make something right goes beyond words, not asked upon checking out how was my stay. I had to complain to head office and just sent back to the local hotel who does not really care about customer experience. House keeping banging on the door at 10:00AM!!, when checkout was at 11:00!! Offered no compensation for the very scary and rude experience. It seems they do not want future bookings! "

"Dull, boring & bland. Desperately needs updating. Bathroom was dire. Bed sheets were blood stained. Breakfast buffet seemed to have been sitting there for hours. Good location but unremarkable if not shabby stay."
