"Lovely quiet place for a short break. Local pub is very friendly and location is not too far from places to visit by car. Glamping Pods very clean as well as toilet block and also well equipped. No issues and really liked that on the day of departure the owner came to say goodbye and ask how our stay was."

"Our only negative is the location of the property on a major road... difficult to get out with the traffic. Otherwise this house is a gem and the reviews do it justice - spacious, well appointed, everything you need, great for visiting surrounding areas. Shame we came in winter and couldn't also enjoy the fabulous garden too!"

"If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. Thank you once again to our host Martin who meets guests at the gate to lead you through the forest."

"If you want to get away from it all & enjoy the peace of the Sussex countryside the Cart Lodge is perfect. Great little cottage, which is well equipped & in a good location to explore East Sussex.
The sheep in the field are great fun, demanding their biscuits as you sit & enjoy the sun.
Thanks Nina for a great week"

"A large well equipped cottage in a small rural village. Access was difficult due to local road closures, however parking was good. There was an excellent pub nearby but no local food shop. The kitchen was very large and well equipped as was the lounge. There was a nice garden with country views. The patio decking needed some repair. There were two bathrooms, one upstairs for 3 of the bedrooms and an en suite off the downstairs bedroom. The en suite was a small wet room without any shelving...

"The hotel is in a great location on the sea front. The staff are professional, very helpful and very friendly. Our double room was basic but quite nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were very nice. The only thing I would point out is that the carpet and curtains needed cleaning.
There is a bar and entertainment area and they have live entertainment on some nights.
I visit Eastbourne quite often and would stay again as the price is very reasonable."
"Functionally acceptable, but there were better hotels along the seafront for similar prices. I won’t be staying there again. It was a hot night, so I had the windows open and the environment was very noisy, so I didn't get much sleep. The following night, I realised fans were available but only noticed discreet signs mentioning them, even then very uncomfortable, but on the upside the staff did very well with what they had to work with."
"Positives:
We had a lovely stay overall. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms were very well presented. We stayed in two different rooms after extending our trip, and both were equally nice.
The pool areas were great and well-kept, although a few more loungers would have been helpful during busier times.
The location is excellent, with a wonderful beach directly opposite the hotel, which made it especially enjoyable.
The reception and concierge staff were superb.
Room for improvement:
The continental breakfast could be better.
Service in the breakfast and lunch areas could be improved. While staff were friendly and accommodating once engaged, we often experienced long waits to be seated at breakfast despite visible queues and available staff.
Similarly, on the outdoor terrace, service was slow or absent at times—we waited over 15 minutes without being attended to and eventually had to order at the bar.
The games room was also quite basic and could be enhanced to better match the overall quality of the hotel however offered some fun options for the kids."
"Incredible location across from the beach. Room was spacious and had a view of the beach and the pier. These older buildings don’t have AC but a fan was provided as was a small portable fridge. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant so we can’t rate those. We forgot some important items in our room on checkout and the staff were amazing. They contacted us right away when they found the items and offered to have a staff member deliver them to us. Really helpful."
"Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room was clean. The decor was dated but everything was well maintained. The hotel was dog friendly and in a central location with a sea view and lots of amenities nearby. We had a lovely stay."
