Enjoyed trip in spite of issues.
A long time friend and I (both senior ladies) have stayed at quite a few VRBO units around the country (including Hawaii) and this is my first somewhat negative review of a rental. Pros: Unit was nice enough, clean enough, had all necessities, nice deck overlooking water. House cleaner Jaime was a Godsend with sweet personality and providing much info on area and helping discover electrical problem in house. Cons: Had I known what type road led to rental I would not have booked. If your auto can handle 2.2 miles of dirt, gravelly, washboard, rutted road to get to rental then go for it. 3 electrical outlets in living room which ran TV and lamp did not work. House cleaner provided extension cord to operate. Upstairs TV did not work. Some cooking pans were too rusty to use. Faucet handles on upstairs shower and sink are reversed. Downstairs bathroom towel rack came out of wall - only attached to sheetrock. My cell phone never had service there but my friend's phone did. No residents near. We felt isolated and a little vulnerable. No water in unit for about 20 hrs.one day. Owner suggested we go to marina down the highway to bathe (really?!) Was not a pleasant situation. But despite the above, my friend and I have always been able to make lemonade out of lemons and we did enjoy the sights in the area.
