「The property was nice. The only problem I had was that the guest before us had a cat that slept on the bed. Housekeeping didn’t change the comforter and I got cat hair all over my clothes. 」

「Clean, nice quaint house close to Belhaven. We were in town to visit some relatives and it was super convenient. I would definitely stay here again. Only 5 minutes to grocery and to downtown Belhaven, and not that far from Washington. 」

「Wonderful stay. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen, lots of dishes, silverware, pots and pans (one thing I would suggest is a new can opener the one there does not work well). Beds were comfortable. The host was very accommodating (we locked the keys in the house and she responded to us right away). Would stay there again. Went to pocosin nature preserve to photograph the tundra swans. Drove to pea island for more photography. Excellent trip.」

「Greatly enjoyed our stay here for a week in February. The house was home base for us as we visited the three nearby National Wildlife Refuges. House was very clean and stocked with all essentials. Clear communications with the host added to the positive experience. Was third winter we have visited Albemarle/Pamlico peninsula to view wildlife. When we return, we will definitely try and book this lodging again.」

「Great place and perfect for a guy to get away from it all, or take all the wildlife found in this area. Well-located near Phelps Lake and the Pungo Unit. It is isolated, so a visit to the grocery store on the way in will save you time if you think you will be going out for groceries later. I thoroughly enjoyed Birthday House. The host was very responsive, and the amenities were great. 」

「The area is completely secluded for a quiet get away. Your host Karen is very attentive to your needs. The apartment was furnished with all the necessities that you think you may need in regard to toiletries and kitchen supplies. The apartment overlooks a beautiful bay of water. You can sit on the deck with your coffee weather permitting. 」
