"The room was bordering on shabby. The shower itself was good, but the taps were too small for the sink, making it difficult to properly wash your hands. The walls were extremely thin, so you could hear everything from neighbouring rooms, and the ceiling creaked constantly from movement in the room above. Whenever anything was moved, there was a noticeable amount of dust underneath, and the room itself seemed to be missing some furniture. Plug sockets were placed in rather random locations, which made them awkward to use. I also found it slightly odd that a ground-floor room facing pedestrian traffic had no net curtains for privacy, and parts of the wallpaper were ripped. Overall, it was acceptable for the price, but it did not leave me particularly inclined to return."

"Good value in all with really lovely staff which made the stop. Why i have given them 3 stars is because they had no eggs for breakfast for me that a crime as i stay away a lot i don't want fried food so always have poached eggs. When you have a full day ahead of you i rely on breakfast which is why i paid £11.95 for it in advance. What was served was poor quality and not worth the money. I still cant believe a hotel with no eggs!"

"Run down and in need of a revamp. Bath was cracked so couldn’t use or would leak down stairs. Booked a double but was put in a twin with the beds pushed together. And an extremely uncomfortable nights sleep just topped It off"

"Lovely quirky characterful hotel with lovely pool and spa area. The spa changing rooms were very dated and not very nice, but the pool itself and jacuzzi were great and very quiet. There were only four loungers and some guests were doing the usual thing of leaving towels there but not using the lounger. The gym was very small and had one treadmill. There are no massage services or treatments despite hotels.com suggesting they offered massages when I saw the listing. Dinner is a set menu and was delicious but very expensive - the dining room is also a very odd set up; you go through a door and you're immediately in between intimate tables of people eating. Breakfast was in the same area and was a bit manic, the staff seemed harassed and I was left with butter on a plate someone else had already used, and a miniature pot of jam someone else had used; plus when I asked for brown sauce, I was given a pot, and when I looked inside, someone had dropped a bit of egg into it, so that was a bit grim. Next time I might stay at the hotel but eat elsewhere."
