This is the bottom, garden-level unit of a 2-unit building, both offered exclusively to short-term visitors to Colorado Springs. With plenty of parking on the street in front, or in the parking lot in back, guests will enter through the front door beneath the stairs.
Enter into the main living space, comfortable, well-appointed and absolutely welcoming. The decor is bright and cheery and completely functional. A full kitchen is off to one side, ready for your culinary creations. The unit's two bedrooms are just down a short hallway, both offering queen-sized comfort fitted with professionally-laundered, quality sheets. The unit's bathroom services both bedrooms and has been updated with rough-wood paneling.

The Neighborhood:
Just a few hundred yards from the Rocky Mountain foothills, this home is located on the Springs' west side, near Red Rocks Canyon Open Space Park…a hidden gem of a park offering many of the same spectacular rock formations and trails that the more well-known Garden of the Gods Park offers, without the crowds and tourists. Another park, Bear Creek Park, is also just up the road. Attractions such as Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs, with their unique and historic artisan shops, restaurants, cafes and nightlife are both just down the road, approximately 2 mins by car, or a 10 minute walk or bike ride. Downtown Colorado Springs is also just about 5 minutes away by car. Visitors to the Springs will inevitably spend most of their time on the west side, close to this property, and guests staying here will be gloriously close to all the goodness, natural or built, that Colorado Springs offers travelers and visitors to the region.
Getting Around:
Although restaurants, parks and other attractions are located close to this property, we recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in Colorado Springs. Also, we can provide you with specific bus routes to help you get around.

My family of four stayed in this property over a weekend while taking in some tourist spots in the area and found the cottage a clean, comfortable place to stay after a couple of long days. Would stay here again.
Excellent location for exploring Manitou and Colorado Springs!
We very much enjoyed the cold A/C, hot shower and perfect little kitchen to make meals. The neighborhood is very quiet. Dishwasher and laundry were excellent! This property was very well located, only 10 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to Manitou and 15 minutes from Cave Of The Winds! We explored many trails in the area and visited Pikes Peak.
Nice place in a nice neighborhood! It should probably be mentioned that there is quite a bit of construction going on behind the property. But it didn't bother our stay. Nice and clean! Would definitely book another stay!
This was our second visit to Colorado Springs and we wanted to stay in a house instead of a hotel. We found this little place that was close to everything we wanted to do. The place is very well kept and clean. The only thing I wish the bottom unit had was patio seating. It would have been nice to sit outside during the mornings or evenings. Overall it was a great visit and a great place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay but we had one scare when a maintenance guy attempted to enter the condo without our knowledge. The location was good, the condo was clean, all items functioned properly, the beds were comfortable and the basic household supplies were adequate. Soundproofing was minimal so the noise from upstairs was a minor issue. Luckily, the guests above us went to bed early so we weren't bothered for very long.
The location of the property was excellent for easy access to all of the attractions in the area.
The property needs some improvements to better serve the guests.
The first thing is better furniture in the living room. The couch was too small for two people to sit on comfortably and no additional seating.
There weren't sufficient places for clothing. The closet needs a better rod for hangers to fit on and hangers need to be furnished.
A dresser should be in at least one bedroom to place items on and in.
The living room closet needed to be cleaned out so it could be used for coats.
The doors on the refrigerator need to be reversed for easier access.
A better tv antenna needs to be installed for better reception.
A sink stopper is needed in the kitchen sink.
The dryer does not work efficiently as it took over 2 hours to dry one load of clothes.
The owner requested us to use trivets on the kitchen counter but there were none provided.
A hamper was needed to put dirty towels.
Air fresheners should not be used since some people are sensitive to fragrances.
The space worked perfectly for us. Two bedrooms with comfortable beds. Only issue was upstairs guests running water constantly and vacuuming in the middle of the night.
Perfect home to be able to work and play. Tons of trails right around the corner. Clean, cozy with comfortable beds. Wifi was good for working. Very comfortable for 2 of us with our dog. Personal touches a plus. We stayed here in the summer and place stayed nice and cool and now it was toasty warm. Would stay here again!
We stayed here due to being in town for a lacrosse tournament. The home and the amenities were adequate for our needs. The location is easy access to a variety of activities and the interstate. You could hear footsteps in the evenings due to the upstairs guests, but it did not impede our sleep or our enjoyment of the home. The kitchen is stocked with the basics needed to prepare meals for the number of guests. Keep meal plans simple as the cookware is minimal but adequate.
We stayed in a 2 unit rental. We were assigned the lower unit and upon opening the door noticed a disgusting odor that was obviously sewer. Upon calling Hoste the issue was “solved “ by assigning us to the upper unit but made for a very unpleasant 2 hours. Seems to me that maintenance cleaners should have known about this.

Door into bedroom wouldn’t shut. Door frame askew. Other bedroom door had a hole on one side. Assume partying abuse. Outside garbage side of house. Bare feet get dirty quick in the floor. Spartan cook ware. Cheap mattresses. Basically a place that will do but it’s not my list anymore.

We had to call maintenance after the tub backed up and soapy (used) water started filling tub. It did eventually drain, but just seemed gross. It happened two different times and we couldn't pinpoint a rhyme or reason as to how/why? One day we had taken 2 showers and then it happened. The next day no one had showered and it started as we turned the water on.
Also, there was a pretty intense bad smell each time we came back to the home. Guess we sort of got used to it while we were there.
I've asked for one night's refund since we left 9/3/23 at 12 pm instead of checking out 9/4.
It is a nice looking place, but needs some internal maintenance improvements.
Rugs didn't look vacuumed thus the mid star rating for cleanliness.

To be honest...
My star rating is based on the substitute unit that we eventually were sent to. I always focus on the positive and will try to in this review but with all the facts.
Neighboring yards were a little on the messy side but it was nice and quiet there.
Door code did not work upon arrival. It was on a Sunday near 5 so I was praying the VRBO Hoste would return my call and he did after a short wait and was able to remotely reset the lock. Problem solved.
When we walked into the unit it was beautiful, but there was a horrible smell. After searching for a dead pest or whatever was causing the smell we had to call VRBO back. It seemed like the smell was coming from the AC ducts so I believe something may have gotten trapped in there and died.
VRBO found an agreeable solution by sending us to the unit next to that one, which was newly renovated as well and also very beautiful. Only issue there was that there was no AC, but luckily the weather had cooled down, so that worked out well for us! The unit was totally stocked as far as kitchen and laundry items, all brand new. Only thing that I missed was a hair dryer.
Location was EXCELLENT!! Parking was EXCELLENT!! Overall I would probably use VRBO again.
Overall the place was cute and served the purpose of our stay, as we were mostly gone from the house anyway. The bathroom was a little dirty and there were some dirty black marks on the walls. The beds were average, but comfortable. Other than that, the place was nice.
I stayed for 11 days. Very nice with farm house charm. All appliances and bathroom worked well. Clean place with some expected dings. Care packet of laundry pods, dishwasher pods etc was a nice touch. Only recommendation would be to get a couple if new frying pans. A bit short on plates.. 6 of everything would be better but I loved this place and worked out really well for us. WIFI and AC all were perfect.

This property was clean, near our activities we wanted to do, and as described. I asked the owner to text me with info about checking in/accessing the property when I booked it, because I was travelling and access to email was minimal. He did not. But at the last minute, we got things sorted out and I was able to access the property when we arrived. Note to others: you must check your email after booking and complete registration questions, and then the owner will email you the code to get into the door.
The place was perfect for me & my wife and our dog! Cozy little spot that’s super close to lots of activities! Short drive away from Garden of the Gods, Helen Hunt Falls, the Incline, a great dog park, a few breweries & Manitou Springs just to name a few. Lots of ‘bang for your buck’ here!
