We really enjoyed our stay. The building is historic and well kept. The staff was very friendly. The cleaning staff kepps everything very clean, including the shared bath. We had a fan in our room, which kept it comfortable. We really enjoyed our four day stay.

Great stay

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent and courteous. Walls a little thin, but that is the standard for historic properties. Great great sunset views, plenty of seating on the lawn to see the bay and nature's vistas. Very nice comfortable rockers on the front porch to watch all the activity of new harbor.

This property is definitely a time capsule, and it was nice to slow down and remember how to relax. The front porch was a favorite spot, watching boats and goings on at the marina, and enjoying the natural AC from the ocean. The hotel was quiet, ice and water plentiful, and delicious muffins for breakfast. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had connecting rooms with a shared private bath, and the only dings I would give are for the condition of the sinks and shower. Each bedroom had a small corner sink which had some drainage issues, and by the looks of accumulated patches, the shower and sinks have been fixed MANY times. All in all would highly recommend - we had an incredibly relaxing weekend at a beautiful spot.

Like: fabulous water view, great rocking chairs on veranda, staff were happy and helpful, fluffy towels, and true sense of a vacation spot from days gone by. Less preferred: definitely "charming" translate needs some upgrades..old furnishings could berepainted or replaced. Lack of mirrors. Better lit walkways in back of bldg. Their website says that they provide air conditioning.When we brought that to the staff's attention, they basically shrugged and said that's not the case. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay, and both bathrooms had mold in them. The morning that we woke up in the first room, we were also welcomed by many beetles in the bathroom that joined us for our morning routine. For an inn whose main clientele visits during the sweltering summer months, the only thing that they really provide are one ineffective fan per room and some decent tasting ice water in the lobby. Although this is one of the cheaper hotels in the area, they still charge way too much to be dealing with these kinds of problems.
