"Hotel Schonegg in Wengen, Switzerland was amazing! First off, it rests in a beautiful small town on the edge of the Alps overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley. Second, the hotel is quiet, beautifully decorated and everything you’d want for a stay in Switzerland. We enjoyed a suite with large tub, shower and the most amazing views of the Alps. "Lovely location and good chalet. Just needs a bit of focus -dishwasher doesn’t work as jets completely chalked up. No towels or bedding in one of the bedrooms on arrival, although did fiz this quickly the next day after it was reported. Excruciating when the whole evening when you’re sat in the living area, the floor above scrape chairs across the floor making your ceiling shudder. Perhaps a bit of felt under the chairs legs?"

2/10 Terrible

"The property is in a fantastic location, very close to the train station, and offers spectacular views. However, the overall experience was not comfortable and the hotel is clearly in need of major upgrades. We got a double room on the top floor, but it lacked basic amenities like air conditioning. The windows were very small for viewing. Small room with bed had no air conditioning and even windows could not be opened, making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. We ended up sweating through the sleep. When we raised this with the front desk, we were given a small portable fan, which was both noisy and ineffective. The bed was not comfortable, and the sofa in the lower level was worn and torn. The room itself felt like a converted attic, with very low ceilings on the upper level that required constant caution to avoid hitting our heads. Although we only stayed for one night, the price was quite high, and we expected much better value. At a minimum, a comfortable bed and proper climate control should be standard. The location is excellent, the staff was friendly, and the views are breathtaking—but the property urgently needs significant upgrades to justify its pricing."

"I visited in the last week of May and my 3:00pm check-in there was issue with the room so it took longer till 4 o’clock to give me the room. I was given 50 Frac voucher. But in Switzerland at a resort, doesn’t get too much for missing an hour. My room was a corner panoramic view of Iger. It’s a little bit expensive than a standard room even with that maintenance delayed that room‘s water glass hard, dry food stuck to it. The chips under the bed, the carpet and the leather bench holes from rips. That room is too expensive without any amenities."

"The room had no air conditioning. I had not noticed that when I booked. It had a fan but just no air since the window was high. The bathroom was too small and not functional. The shower was built for half a person. We had a room with 2 twin beds with not headboard so you can’t read or seat comfortably in bed. The breakfast and the location was excellent. Overall, too pricy for what we got. I think it is worth it to pay a $100 more per night to get way more."
