"Cerro Vista is the perfect place to host a multi-generational family gathering! We celebrated our 40th anniversary and had our 3 adult children and their families (total of 13) stay with us here for a week. Our objective was to spend time together without having to go anywhere to entertain the 5 grandchildren (ages 6mo - 8). This was definitely the right place. There was enough space that we could have multiple small gatherings going on at the same time ... billiards, ping pong, card game, swimming pool, movie/arcades, etc. As it turns out, since it rained nearly every day, these entertainment options were critical to helping keep everyone busy having fun without the need to pile into a car every day. There were so many rooms that the grandkids had a great time playing hide-and-seek.The kitchen is large (with very high end appliances) and helped keep our large group fed without trying to find restaurants that would host our large group. We could even seat everyone in the dining room at the same time!Of course with a house this large (and with frequent turnover of guests) there are likely to be operations question and/or issues. Tom was extremely responsive to call/texts - even over the July 4th holiday weekend!I highly recommend this property, or any from the Terra2 group, and we plan to book another property from them for a future gathering."
Father of the Bride Private Estate with Pool & Hot Tub - Sleeps 25
10/10 Excellent
"You will not find a more beautiful property with everything a family or group could want. The property is an oasis conventiently located in Rockford and easy to access from Chicago. The house is exactly as described only better. Expansive and well equipped kitchen. Plentiful and comfortable bedrooms and conveniently located on two floors. First flior bedrooms ideal for those who don't want to climb stairs. Multiple sitting and living areas. Lovely outdoor spaces with plenty of land to enjoy. Game room and movie room perfect for kids and adults. Don't miss the adorable children's reading nook stocked with books for young readers. Plenty of onsite parking. Bathrooms could be improved but we made it work. More towels would be nice. Some remotes for TVs were missing but we figured out workarounds. A few lights were tricky but the host was responsive to help us figure them out (except in the in-law suite).Overall, it was a wonderful experience in a dreamy home. We'd come again!"
"We stayed over the Fourth of July weekend to celebrate my niece’s 29th birthday, and the house was absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood felt very safe, which we appreciated since we had children with us. The home featured several high-end, smart appliances, which made things convenient. However, there were some issues. Towels weren’t placed in the bathrooms or bedrooms—we had to search the basement laundry room to find them. There also seemed to be no pest control done at all, as we encountered beetles, earwigs, and other bugs inside and outside the home. The pool/hot tub was a big reason we booked, but it appeared dirty, with a slippery bottom and no sign of recent maintenance or cleaning products used. We skimmed it ourselves, but it still felt unclean. The lawn hadn’t been mowed, which made it difficult for the kids to play safely outside due to hidden sticks and uneven ground. Several household basics were missing: no dish soap, no Kleenex, just one bottle of hand soap that we had to move around, and only two laundry pods for a multi-day stay.Overall, we enjoyed our time together in a beautiful home, but better pest control, lawn care, and stocking of essentials would make a big difference for future guests."
