Amazing as you walk in! The two ladies at front desk working the evening on May 25th were the sweetest kindest and helpful women ever!!!! The place was very clean and the location is near downtown!!

This is a nice little spot- clean and tidy and very convenient in the middle of downtown- yet quiet.

This was my first stay at this quiet, peaceful and spacious environmental hotel. This hotel prides itself in achieving award status in "green conscience" practices that include composting as an option in the kitchen suites and all rooms without a/c because the fresh bay side breezes afford adequate cooling in the rooms. We had an amazing time at this location! It was super clean, very close to shopping and dining and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Whenever we had any questions or needed extra room items, they were kind and helpful with quick service. The hotel itself is a 2 min walk from Chinatown and 2 blocks away from the water. We didn’t have a rental car but we really didn’t need it. It is about a 20 min walk from the Empress, but it’s a downhill walk so it wasn’t bad. The front desk can...

The hotel is conveniently located close to the harbor and downtown Victoria, but was on a street that gave a quiet neighborhood feel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and answered any questions we had. We were able to purchase tickets to a local attraction at the front desk. The hotel offered a very good complementary breakfast. We were able to walk to many of the things we wanted in the downtown area.

The James Bay Inn is my go-to hotel in Victoria, BC! I absolutely love it! The location got me in the door, and the staff and the way they took care of me and the hotel have kept me coming back for a while now! I so enjoy staying at Red Lion Inn and Suites. The staff is always friendly. The room are always clean and comfortable. What more can you ask for? Oh…and there’s a restaurant and it’s on a walking trail!

Enjoyed 3 night stay. Good sized room, with kitchen. Good buffet breakfast. Clean. We did not have a car so loved that we could just walk over to the harbor. Walking distance to many restaurants. Just round the corner to the Royal BC Museum, Provincial Legislature, harbor walkway, Empress Hotel for afternoon tea. Easy to walk into downtown and I am 79 years old

Had the best time. Rooms very clean and fun. Pool was a blast for the kids and grandma’s basement was so fun for the kids and adults. Would gladly stay here again.

Our Stay in the honeymoon suite was comfortable and peaceful. The kitchenette available for guests use made it possible to have a cup of tea with my hot bath! Quiet neighborhood setting and convenient walking distance to downtown Victoria! Delicious breakfast, Marketa and staff were gracious and attentive! Next time I'd like to stay for at least two to three nights and bring our bikes for touring around the island!
