"My only complaint is the road to get to the container villa is so obviously made for a one way but the kurokawa onsen village decided that traffic can struggle to figure out who has the right of way and reverse in the middle of the road… very dangerous but any who.. "I love the traditional tatami rooms here. The ‘Bekkan’ is an annex and based in an older building that is charmingly done. It has its own baths, but you have access to the bigger and outdoor baths at the main building a block away. We hadn’t ticked the dinner box when reserving. Dining options in this town may be somewhat limited as most onsen inns serve meals inside. The restaurants fill up. We ordered the dinner when we arrived. "This place is a bit special. Lovely setting next to river. Staff very friendly and facilities clean. Stayed in a tree house one night. Was a great memorable experience. Used an e-bike and went around the local area, past rice fields and old shrines. One of the highlights of our trip to Japan. "
