About this property

Botanicals · Pool, Hot Tub, Putting Green, 5 Acres

  • Summary:

Botanicals is a colorful, art-filled desert retreat on five acres above Yucca Valley, where the grounds are every bit as inviting as the house. Spend afternoons moving between the saltwater pool, putting green, and cactus gardens, then gather around the fire or slip into the eight-person hot tub. With mountain views, private courtyards, and even a queen sleeping platform beneath the stars, this three-bedroom home makes staying in feel like the best part of getting away.

    The Space:

At Botanicals, bold design meets a landscape that deserves just as much attention. Vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams, vibrant furnishings, and artwork by local artists and ceramicists give the interiors a playful, collected character. Large windows frame the San Gorgonio Mountains, while glass doors connect the living spaces to a series of patios and courtyards. The home feels open and social without sacrificing the smaller, quieter spaces that make traveling together comfortable.

Set on a Yucca Valley mesa, the property invites you to spend much of your time outdoors. Cactus gardens, agave, and mature desert plants surround a collection of places to swim, play, dine, and unwind. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and accommodations for six guests, Botanicals is especially well suited to friends and families who enjoy good design, a little friendly competition, and having plenty to do without leaving home.

    -Outdoor Amenities-

The outdoor spaces at Botanicals feel like a series of little destinations connected by a desert garden. At the heart of it all is a curved saltwater pool surrounded by agave, cactus, and loungers. Swim while taking in the mountain scenery, settle into the sun with a book, or head to the nearby eight-person hot tub when you're ready to unwind. The pool uses solar heating, so its temperature depends on available sunlight and weather conditions.

Beyond the pool, the four-hole putting green adds a playful touch to the landscape. Challenge your group to a putting competition, set up bocce ball, or bring out the jumbo Jenga. Terraced seating areas offer places to watch the games or simply enjoy the surroundings.

Shaded patios extend around the house, creating inviting spots for outdoor meals, afternoon reading, and conversation. Fire up the gas grill for dinner, claim a seat by the outdoor gas fireplace, or gather around the wood-burning fire pit as the evening cools.

One of the property's most unusual features is its queen-size outdoor sleeping platform. Tucked into a courtyard, it offers the chance to spend an entire night beneath the desert sky rather than simply stepping outside to admire it.

The grounds extend across five acres of open desert landscape, with expansive mountain views and native vegetation. The property is not fully fenced, allowing the surrounding scenery to feel like a natural continuation of the garden.

    -Living Area-

The living room has a personality all its own. A generous blue sectional anchors the space beneath soaring ceilings and warm wood beams, while a tiled fireplace, sculptural furnishings, and carefully chosen artwork bring texture and color.

It's a comfortable place to gather after an afternoon outside, whether you're settling in for a movie on the smart TV, playing music through the Sonos sound system, or spending an evening with books and board games. Large windows and sliding glass doors keep the mountain views in sight, and the adjoining covered patio makes it easy to move between indoor and outdoor lounging.

Despite its playful aesthetic, the room is designed for relaxation, with soft seating, natural light, and plenty of space for the whole group to settle in.

    -Kitchen and Dining-

The renovated kitchen brings the home's creative personality into a space that is equally practical for cooking and entertaining. Warm wood cabinetry, blue accents, patterned details, and a colorful island give it a distinctly modern, midcentury-inspired feel.

GE Café appliances include a gas range, convection oven with air-fryer functionality, and full-size refrigerator. A separate wine refrigerator makes it easy to keep drinks chilled, while the Nespresso setup is ready for your morning coffee.

The spacious island provides room to prepare meals while others pull up a stool and keep you company. Nearby, a dining area with bright orange chairs and generous natural light offers a cheerful setting for shared meals.

When the weather calls for eating outdoors, the gas grill and shaded patios make it easy to take dinner outside.

    -Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Botanicals has three thoughtfully furnished bedrooms and two bathrooms, accommodating up to six guests. Each bedroom has its own personality, with colorful details, comfortable furnishings, and artwork that reflects the home's creative spirit.

Two of the bedrooms feature private entrances through courtyards, allowing guests to step directly outside and enjoy a little independence from the rest of the house.

One bedroom features a vibrant orange accent wall, an upholstered bed, a smart TV, and a window-facing desk with mountain views. It's a particularly appealing option for anyone who wants a quiet place to work, read, or ease into the morning.

Another bedroom has a more botanical character, with an iron bed, plant-inspired accent wall, and a comfortable reading chair.

The third bedroom features a queen bed and doors opening directly toward the desert, bringing the surrounding landscape into the room.

The two bathrooms carry through the home's distinctive design. One offers a soaking tub and warm wood vanity, while the other features a glass-enclosed shower, mosaic tile, and a contemporary vessel sink.

Multiple pillow options are provided for added comfort, and a Pack 'n Play is available for families traveling with young children. For guests drawn to the idea of sleeping outside, the separate queen-size platform offers an alternative to a traditional bedroom.

Whether your days are filled with swimming, games, exploring Joshua Tree, or simply enjoying the house and its gardens, Botanicals gives your group plenty of room to enjoy time together and find moments of your own.

    -Surrounding Area-

Joshua Tree National Park and Pioneertown make good outings from Botanicals, both close by on paved roads. With a basic four-wheel-drive vehicle and experience handling it, the remote areas around the home offer desert scenery with fewer crowds than the national park.

Great property for our family of four, always very prompt communication with our host. Would stay again. Loved how close it was to the park and town, but still felt private.
