The staff are polite, but their English communication skills are limited. Together with apparent understaffing, the overall service quality has room for improvement. For example, there was no attention to parking arrangements or assistance with carrying luggage into the hotel. In addition, although the room instructions state that guests of three or more need to prepare the tatami themselves, this stay was for two guests only, yet guests were still required to handle it on their own, which is not very friendly to foreign travelers. The hot spring water quality is excellent, and the facilities appear relatively new. However, some cracked flooring was observed around the outdoor area of the men’s bath, which could pose a safety risk at night if guests are not careful.
