"Check in was easy. We used a live person and she was lovey. Our accommodations were in rush tower. The room was nice, however the first evening I went to shower to learn the body soap was entirely empty and there was a long head hair (not mine) in there. This led me to believe they couldn't have cleaned the shower area. It was too late to say something while in the shower, but we spoke to Giovanni at the front and he was supportive and assisted us. The disappointment was the "shark pool." The images lead me to feel that you could view this while sitting relaxing at the pool. The reason for my booking actually was the pool and first time staying on Fremont vs the strip. The shark/fish pool is only visible up close and through a small gap between the water line(waist level). While it is cool it was definitely not what i wanted. Question is, would I stay again? I would because I'd know what to expect. I also, think the location to walk 1.5 miles to the art district which has several amazing reataurants (Esthers Kitchen and Bar Boheme) or ten minutes for a nice breakfast at Broken Yolk or more intimate, AmeriBrunch. "

"I mainly chose it for the breakfast buffet, they have become few and far between in Las Vegas. And the location - we were mostly planning to visit national and state parks around Las Vegas, and this hotel is very convenient for the major highways, both north/south and east/west directions. Breakfast had lots of options (though I wish it opened earlier than it did, since we would leave so early for more distant locations). Casino was a bit dated but we didn't come to gamble, so it was fine. It felt very safe and reasonably clean and quiet. Fremont Street was nearby. Dinner was surprisingly good and very reasonably priced. Beer was good too, I tasted all of their offerings."

"Three times in one night while trying to enjoy myself the security approached me asking me my room and for my ID saying this is there job if someone looks young . Mind you I’m 37 years old three times they embarrassed me and stopped while I was playing slots definitely won’t be returning. Some type of profiling going on here cause it makes no sense. "

"If you want a dose of aloha and cannot make it to the islands, Las Vegas is the place to come and the Cal is the place to stay. Comfortable, great food, lovely staff. Safe and the slots were kind too!"
