「Very comfortable bed, nice big window, decent sized room with good facilities. The owner was very happy to help with fresh milk delivered and good suggestions for local food places.」

「Lovely big room & big bed, plus plenty of parking. Great food & wine too.」

「We were welcomed by the staff and shown to our room, which was spacious, clean, warm and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality pillows. The shower room was large, clean and modern. It was so reasonably priced, we expected a lot less!」

「We were a little disappointed with our stay and are surprised by the number of positive comments. While our room itself was clean enough, the rest of the property would benefit from a serious deep clean. The carpets on the stairs were heavily ingrained with dirt. We were also surprised to find that the dining area was carpeted, which seems an unusual and impractical choice for a breakfast room. The carpet was very dirty and had a musty smell, and there were crumbs scattered around when we came...

「Such a beautiful, beautiful place in a lovely setting. Such attention to detail, the furnishings, the gardens and sitting areas not to mention the wonderful breakfast that was served. Our host could not have been more helpful or pleasant. We hated that we could only stay one night. Hopefully we can return one day !」

「Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers」

「Everything we would expect from a hotel of this type. Clean, helpful staff, excellent dinner and breakfast, good beer, easy to park, windows that opened to let in freash air. Just great. Kedgeree for breakfast a particular delight. One slightly wobbly tap, that was it」

「Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Comfortable bed. And I loved that there was a good amount of tea and coffee sachets in the bedroom ☺️」

「We travelled as a couple with our dog. From arrival all staff were very friendly and welcoming and explained local walks (with a map) that we could do with our dog. The room was exceptionally well kept and clean with lovely finishes. We had a balcony looking out over lush gardens and we could hear the river flowing which was beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast both exceptionally and good value. The lounge area was lovely and great place to chill. For an old mill it looks so well kept and...

「Hotel does need some maintenance doing, our room had some damp in a patch in corner. flakey paint on wall in bathroom. At breakfast there was a bulb going in the main light which was flashing all the time we were having breakfast. Fire exit handle was broken in restaurant and fire extinguisher needs looking at. Food at breakfast was very nice 👍」

「This was a quick overnight stay on the drive back from Cornwall. The off-street parking and affordability were key in our purchase. Our room was clean and spacious, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious.」
