"Overall, the stay at the hotel was good. With exceptions for some marks on the wall in the bathroom and hairs in the cabinets likely left by prior guests, the room was clean. The proximity and view of downtown St. Thomas was absolutely the best part of the room. Additionally, we loved the air conditioning. The pool and the hot tub are not the most attractive in comparison to that of other resorts on the island, but they are good. It appears that the hotel is being renovated in portions, so this hotel has the potential to be the best on the island. Also, the on-site Sunnyside Cafe is a great stop for breakfast, but the dinner at the Castle Grill is not recommended in light of other nearby places for dinner that are both better and more affordable.
Note: If booking on Expedia, there is a lot of confusion about where you are staying in relation to Bluebeards Castle. Initially, we expected to be closer to the castle but found out that the resort is broken down into 3 different buildings with different layouts. You can find more information about their layout on the hotel’s website."
"We loved our stay at Emerald Beach Resort!
The staff was helpful, especially Rachel and Sharif !!! The beach was beautiful, great views from room. They were very accommodating to all our needs.
The downfall was limited access to eating different foods. Getting to restaurants or town cost $40.00 round trip by taxi no matter how close or far. Strongly suggest a car rental. Reminder they drive on opposite side of road there. We stayed 8 nights, we would do it again!"
"Everything needed (even conditioner and hand lotion)-- other than a kettle in the room but I was able to get hot water for tea, from the in-house restaurant, during their operating hours.
(Ones of the owners at reception does not have the most welcoming personality but if u ignore the way she may treat you, everyone else was really sweet & fantastic!!)
Cleaning rooms upon request, even daily if wanted/needed..
One night, there was a water issue but thankfully that got resolved and the staff got me a shower in another available room...(Sounds like it was an Island thing? Not totally sure...?)"
"The room was clean, beautiful, and very spacious we just had a little issue with the A/C and on spot where water leaked from the ceiling. Once it was reported someone was sent right away. The pools are great the kids enjoyed them the staff was friendly mostly helpful and nice."
"It's convenience and spectacular view of the harbor over looking Charlotte Amelia for our last night.
The front desk lady on the mid-shift was so pleasant and knowledgeable to our questions.
The restaurant's atmosphere was perfect for my wife and I as we lived in the VI for many years.
To finish our stay, our taxy driver was like a private tour guide to the airport.
What more do you want ?"
"The pictures are a fraud. There’s no restaurant on the premises at all. The pool looks nothing like the pic. My bed sheets were dirty and had false eyelashes attached to them. There was construction done daily. Men were throwing large rocks down a shaft from 8am to 4pm DAILY!!! Including the weekend! They cut the yard daily. The excuse I was given was ground work was done daily. This made my stay horrible. The people were very nice but they didn’t solve any of the issues. I will never return."
