Future guests deserve to know exactly what they’re getting into—and what they aren’t being told.
On-site staff were great. The apartment was clean & well-equipped. However, the experience was marred by several serious issues.The mattress in the principal bedroom was unfit for purpose. It was a basic spring mattress, which might pass for a night or two, but by night three, it caused real problems, which eventually developed into sciatica. I don’t expect a luxury or hybrid mattress, but I do expect a mattress that doesn’t physically harm guests. There is a major construction site right next to the apartment block. Under Maltese law, construction is allowed to start at 7:30 AM. So, if you’ve been out late or simply want a slow morning, forget it. One morning at 8:00 AM, a pneumatic drill mounted to a construction vehicle was pounding into solid rock. The vibration could be felt through the walls.This wasn’t some light renovation; they’re still excavating & laying foundations, which means this will continue for months, if not longer. None of this was mentioned in the VRBO listing. That’s misleading, & it’s unacceptable not to disclose something this disruptive.On our final night, the gas cylinder for the hob ran out after minimal use. Matthew was contacted at 7:50 PM but only promised a replacement the next day—after we’d already be gone. No alternative (credit or food reimbursement) was offered.Issues raised after we left & requested a 50% refund. Matthew refused, citing our delay in our complaint while ignoring the lack of disclosure.Below average experience
