  • Welcome to Whisper in the Woods!

    Enjoy this large cottage tucked away in the Tuckahoe woods. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, this is the perfect getaway home for families or friends looking to spend time with nature, and be within a 10 minute drive to shopping, the best beaches, and the Southampton scene. The backyard is an outdoor paradise, with large seating areas on a sprawling deck, a fantastic Olympic-sized pool, brand new outdoor grill, a hot tub (or cold plunge!), an outdoor shower, lots of space to throw around a frisbee or baseball, and a firepit surrounded by magical solar lights. The house is recently fully renovated, with all of the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. With stunning hiking trails just a stone's throw from the house, you can truly experience the Hamptons lifestyle however you choose-- be it a woodsy retreat in nature, or a bougie trip to one of the most exciting towns in the Hamptons.

    The shed is fully equipped with everything to help make your stay extraordinary: beach chairs, inflatable pool floats and toys, a pool volleyball set, a Bose Bluetooth stereo system, wiffleball, basketball, frisbee and Blitzball.

    Enjoy a reading selection from our fully stocked library, or play a Board game in our fully-stocked games closet!

    The house is great for business / team / writer retreats as well! We are longtime entrepreneurs, authors and members of EO and YPO and know what makes a great retreat location! (And we're committed to being responsive hosts!)

The perfect spot for our niece’s wedding weekend.The property is spacious and well appointed. Close to everything but still feels private. Comfortable beds and sitting areas. The pool was amazing and a great spot to relax between wedding events. We had 7 adults stay there was plenty of room for everyone. Dave is a great host. Questions were answered right away. Very Fun Stay

My fiancée and I took a trip here with other couples and friends of ours. The house was very spacious and offered many places to sleep. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The backyard was beautiful and spacious, we enjoyed swimming in the pool and using the hot tub.

Amazing weekend stay with friends!

Our stay at this property was amazing! Dave and his wife were responsive all weekend. The Vrbo was exactly as described and was equipped with everything we would have needed for the weekend including towels, beach supplies, and all house supplies! We could have spent our entire time outside by the pool and hot tub, it was beautifully set up! Thank you for hosting us, my friends and I had a great stay. We can’t wait to come back to the Hamptons!

Stunning residence fully equipped for a perfect getaway with friends or family. You will not want to leave as the house was carefully designed to include a hot tub, firepit and outdoor bar in addition its large garden, oversized pool and spacious rooms. The house was great. Super comfortable and the backyard is wonderful with a gas fireplace, a fire pit, a hot tub, a pool, and an outdoor grill setup. There were 7 of us any it was very comfortable. Dave was great and very prompt and helpful if we needed anything. Would definitely come back.

Wonderful New Years Retreat

My friends and I stayed at this house for a few days around New Year's. The house is very spacious, and the grounds are lovely. We had a group of 5 and had lots of room to congregate and disappear if we needed alone time. The hot tub was exactly what some of us needed, while the kitchen provided others with much comfort. The one bummer was when we arrived; it looked like someone had just had a party outside so that first made for a bit of cleanup. That little bump shouldn't stop you from checking this property out, but it does get a knockdown from our rating.

Serene Southampton Oasis

Our group of friends stayed at this house for a long weekend in October 2024. The house is just as good or better than the pictures in the listing. Very clean and updated inside and out. Most importantly, the bathrooms and kitchen are clean and updated. And the huge backyard with pool, hot tub, and outdoor shower takes this house to the next level. The backyard space is great for families, small groups, or anyone looking for a quiet private space to relax. The owner/manager was very responsive for any small issues that came up and all were resolved quickly. You'll want to stay here for your next trip to the Hamptons

We loved our stay here! The hosts were very helpful and communicative leading up to and during our short stay. The house was perfect for our family - the pool area is fantastic and being able to grill food at the outdoor kitchen is such a bonus. No back and forth to the house for snacks or drinks! We spent the evening around the fire pit and the extended deck meant that there was plenty of room for us to relax and our kids to play. We also explored the local area and nearby beaches. The property is beautifully furnished and we felt very comfortable and welcome there. We’ll definitely be returning next year!

10/10 house for our girls trip!

My girlfriends and I had such a lovely stay at this Southampton home! It was my first time in the Hamptons (others in the group had been before) and I’m already ready to go back — particularly just to sit by this GORGEOUS pool. One of the highlights was getting a big bucket of seafood at nearby Clamman’s and doing a seafood boil in the backyard. Luckily, the house had tools to crack the shells on our lobsters! If you’re looking for a mix of at-home and out-and-about time, then this is the house for you. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to lots of activity in town. Everyone was comfortable and had plenty of space. We’ll be back!

Stunning house

Stunning house!!! This Southampton house is an amazing getaway with 5 bedrooms, making it ideal for families or groups. The house is nice, clean and very well decorated. Everything about it is great. The house is equipped with everything you need, including washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. The outside area is beautiful and spacious. The pool is great and the temperature was just right, the jacuzzi is perfect for relaxing at night and the outside shower is literally the best shower ever. They also have an outside grill and bar, which was perfect for our barbecue! The deck is perfect for night gatherings and s’more’s (they have an amazing gas fire pit). The hosts were very helpful, had a great communication and that made our stay even better. I am definitely coming back soon!

The property was great! Dave was incredibly responsive and even went the extra mile by ordering books for my granddaughter’s Sweet 16, which we were there celebrating — such a thoughtful touch.The only real issue we experienced was the buildup of garbage bags that had been left behind by previous guests. Animals were getting into them at night. While this wasn’t the owner’s fault, having more than two garbage cans would definitely make things easier for guests.Also, on our last night, we prepared a big dinner using the outdoor barbecue for her celebration, and the sprinklers unexpectedly came on. Everyone had to scramble to keep our belongings and food from getting soaked. Not a huge problem, but it might be worth looking into for future guests.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the special touches!

Perfect getaway!

Great house! This is the 2nd time I have stayed here. The 1st time I stayed with my boyfriend and we had such a great time that I booked it again for a mini getaway with my girlfriends. Both stays were incredible. The house is charming and very clean. There's a cozy feel to it, and the living space downstairs gets beautiful light with the best couch ever. Once you are hanging out in there, you will never want to leave. But you should, because you'll want to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor space. The pool was the perfect temperature, the outdoor grill and spacious deck were perfect for dinner, and the firepit was a great way to end the night with smores. The house is a short ride to amazing shopping and nice restaurants that we took advantage of the 2nd day/night. Beds were super comfortable, and the house had pretty much everything that we needed (coffee station, towels, alexa, speaker for music outside, etc). The keyless entry was simple, and when I contacted the host to ask where extra garbage bags were, she responded immediately. This was such a great find, and I will certainly be coming back again!

Nothing short of perfection!

Our girls' getaway to this Southampton house was nothing short of magical! Everything was a breeze: we had no problem checking in, and the house was spotless upon arrival. The location was ideal—we had easy access to fantastic restaurants, shopping, and the beach—making it perfect for a quick trip out of the city. It's also worth noting that Uber/Lyft had no problem navigating to the house to pick us up for dinner reservations in town. Let's talk about the heated pool! Despite it not being peak summer, we were worried about not being able to enjoy this amenity. We were so wrong, and wanted to be in the pool at all times. It felt like a luxury resort experience right in the backyard. One evening we did our own lobster boil using the well-equipped kitchen—it had everything we needed for our feast. Because we stayed during the work week, we took short "coffee walks" around the property in the mornings before settling into different corners for remote work. The wifi had great connection and allowed us to get tons of work done inside or while sitting on the deck or by the pool (shh, don't tell our bosses). I wholeheartedly recommend Carrie's house to anyone seeking a serene place away from the craziness of summer in the Hamptons. Our group is already plotting our return trip!
