"A must stay for anyone in Karuizawa! The room was plenty big enough for one or two people, staff were very helpful. I rented an e bike for 2500 yen for the day which was great to get around and do some sightseeing. The outside private onsen was a great way to end the day, I’d recommend booking in the morning to make sure you have your preferred spot."

However, I noticed that a large proportion of the guests were Korean and Chinese tourists, with relatively fewer visitors from other countries. As a result, the resort felt more like a popular international tourist destination than a quiet, traditional Japanese retreat."

"The hotel is very well located, near the train and bus stations. We could walk to the castle in 10 minutes. The area felt safe and calm. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the amenities available for free in the reception area. The laundry area was useful (though busy). The staff helped us arrange luggage transfer to Magome and stored our backpacks after check out when we went to tour the city. This is a very good choice for a trip to Matsumoto and the price is fair for the quality of the room."
